Lot of 3 Pinback Campaign Buttons Coolidge Ferraro Reagan Bush

I've been trying to sell a lot of 3 pinback buttons:

Coolidge for President (1923) (1 inch)
Mondale Ferraro (1 inch)
Reagan Bush 84 (1 1/4")

These are a nice addition to your collection. They're in good shape, but the Coolidge shows a bit of wear - it's over 80 years old!

That Old Black Magic Cast-Iron Bean Pot

We have an Etsy item for sale that's very, very old: It is a used black cast iron covered cook pot and lid with a wire handle. "8, DO, Made in USA, 8" stamped proudly on the bottom of the pot. Inside of the lid: "10 1/4, 8".

The lid measures 10 1/4" across. The pot is 4" high. It will hold about a gallon (well, that's my guess.)

Condition is good - Mama was painting the kitchen the last time she made beans in it and there are a few white splatters on the lid. It needs to be reseasoned: I cleaned it good and rubbed in a tiny bit of pure vegetable oil, but you need to wash it down good, scrub with steel wool, and rub in some bacon fat and bake it for a couple hours at 400 degrees. There are a number of sites that'll tell you how to re-season cast iron. It was rusty when I got it, but they all get that way when they sit around.

Pipal Leaf Oil Painting of a Small Bird

We have this vintage hand-painted pipal leaf showing a small bird on a tree branch for sale on Etsy.

Most likely painted in oil. Process: Green layers are removed from the pipal leaves by a special process. The Skeletal leaves are then compressed for strength and long durability. They're then painted and sealed.

This beautiful Pipal Leaf oil painting is an excellent decorative piece! The total finished size is about 7" X about 9". The leaf is about 3 1/4" X about 4 1/2". The leaf is mounted on red felt. The felt is mounted on paper - looks to be archival.

The condition is very good. The very top of the leaf is bent down a little and you could fix it with a drop of glue, but I'll leave that to you. Note: colors on your monitor may be different than actual colors due to camera and monitor settings, as is true of any artwork.

19 Little Pictures of San Francisco in the 1930's

For sale is a lot of 19 miniature photographs showing scenes from San Francisco. Each one has a title on the lower portion, for example: "Bay Bridge, San Francisco".

They look to be from the mid-1930's. There is a copyright "Moulin" on the lower right of some, but not all, of the little pictures. In the mid-1930's Moulin Studio's was commissioned to photograph the building of both the Golden Gate Bridge and the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge. Each photo is 3 1/2" X 2 5/8".

Read more about Moulin at http://www.moulinstudios.com/history.htm

These little photos are in very good condition.

40 Years Ago Today!

40 years ago my only niece was born in Hickory, N. C. I cannot tell how beautiful she is in mere words! Little girl in my arms, you hold a central part in my heart. Happy birthday!

Life Lessons

1. You will receive a body. You may like it or hate it, but it's yours to keep for the entire period.
2. You will learn lessons. You are enrolled in a full-time informal school called, "life."
3. There are no mistakes, only lessons. Growth is a process of trial, error, and experimentation. The "failed" experiments are as much a part of the process as the experiments that ultimately "work."
4. Lessons are repeated until they are learnt. A lesson will be presented to you in various forms until you have learnt it. When you have learnt it, you can go on to the next lesson.
5. Learning lessons does not end. There's no part of life that doesn't contain its lessons. If you're alive, that means there are still lessons to be learnt.
6. "There" is no better a place than "here." When your "there" has become a "here", you will simply obtain another "there" that will again look better than "here."
7. Other people are merely mirrors of you. You cannot love or hate something about another person unless it reflects to you something you love or hate about yourself.
8. What you make of your life is up to you. You have all the tools and resources you need. What you do with them is up to you. The choice is yours.
9. The answers to life's questions lie within you. All you need to do is look, listen, and trust.
10. You will forget all this.
